Campaign: Nourish Hope – A Lifeline for Zimbabwe’s
Children
By Andrea Romaoli Garcia, Ambassador, on behalf of Simuka Africa Youth Association - UNICEF - ZY
The Crisis
Right now, in communities across Zimbabwe, children are facing a heartbreaking reality.
Every day, thousands wake up with empty stomachs, specialy Simuka's youth have no access to basic medicine, and no promise of a safer tomorrow.
Their laughter is being replaced by silence. Their dreams are being crushed by hunger , early marriage, and human trafficking networks that prey on their vulnerability.
This is not just a humanitarian crisis, it’ s a human rights emergency that became fast urgent in the Simuka's community.
Simuka Africa Youth Association is a grassroots force for change.
We’re in the field daily, providing emergency food, health care, psychosocial support, and education - and now, we’re strengthening our mission to protect children from trafficking and forced marriage.
The Mission: Nourish Hope
#NourishHope
#NourishHope is more than a fundraiser. It’s a global movement. We aim to build a future where every child is safe, fed, healthy , and free.
Current Simuka Africa Youth Association is a focal point of UNODC to prevent and repress Human Trafficking, child marriage, firearms and cybercrime that fast are decreasing our society and jeopardize the future of our planet, next generations and safe space.
Also through our CLEAN-UP CAMPAIGNS (SDG6), more than 20,000 people benefited from having clean water access.
This initiative aims to contribute with THE MATCH-A-MEAL CAMPAIGN: we have assisted more than 650 vulnerable households with food & vegetable garden assistance. We also provide monthly supplies of basic food, skills training & starting capital entrepreneurial activities to girls and young women at risk & child marriages.
With your support, we can:
● Continue providing nutritious meals to malnourished children.
● Continue delivering life-saving medicines to rural health centers.
● Offer safe spaces and mentoring for at-risk girls and boys.
● Launch community awareness campaigns on human trafficking and child marriage.
● Work with local leaders to strengthen child protection laws and enforcement.
