The International Observatory for the Prevention of Femicide and Domestic Violence is currently in its launch phase. Preparatory meetings, institutional coordination, and governance structuring have already been conducted, with over 120 hours of volunteer engagement dedicated to the development of the initiative. The Observatory is being established within the academic environment of Universidade Vila Velha, where initial planning efforts are focused on defining research priorities, strengthening institutional partnerships, and developing the Observatory’s operational framework. The next phase will focus on implementing research activities, building international collaborations, and promoting dialogue aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 5 and SDG 16.

1. CLEAN-UP CAMPAIGNS (SDG3, 6, 9, 13), more than 20,000 people benefited from having clean water access 2. THE MATCH-A-MEAL CAMPAIGN (SDG 1, 2, 4, 5, 9, 10, 13. 14, 16, 17, 18): we have assisted more than 650 vulnerable households with food & vegetable garden assistance. We also provide monthly supplies of basic food, skills training & starting capital entrepreneurial activities to girls and young women at risk & child marriages.

ABOUT

The International Observatory for the Prevention of Femicide and Domestic Violence is a research and policy initiative dedicated to advancing knowledge, monitoring trends, and promoting effective responses to gender-based violence. Hosted within the academic environment of the Universidade Vila Velha, the Observatory operates as an international hub connecting researchers, policymakers, civil society organizations, and institutional partners committed to preventing violence against women and strengthening accountability mechanisms. The initiative aims to produce research, data analysis, and policy recommendations that support evidence-based decision-making, particularly in relation to the implementation of legal frameworks addressing gender-based violence, including protective legislation and public safety policies. Through interdisciplinary collaboration and international dialogue, the Observatory seeks to contribute to the advancement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly: SDG 5 – Gender Equality SDG 10 - Reduced Inequalities SDG 16 – Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals By fostering cooperation between academia, civil society, and international partners, the Observatory aims to strengthen prevention strategies, improve data transparency, and support global efforts to eliminate femicide and domestic violence.
